Wrapping Party

HO HO HO! Santa caps go on, and our volunteers turn into elves! The Christmas Miracle would not exist without our volunteers coming together and giving their time. After all the shopping is done, the sorting and wrapping begins!

First, all of the clothes get sorted by size and gender, and outfits are put together so that everyone opens a well-put-together gift—one that positive thought was put into. We then add personal care items that are age appropriate. Last comes the actual wrapping. Once the gifts are wrapped, they get labeled by size and gender again. This allows us to give each family the right sizes and gender appropriate gifts to take home.

We call this a party because it is! Just about every volunteer brings either their family and/or friends to take part in the festivities. We listen to Christmas music and drink hot cocoa to get into the Christmas spirit. It is the perfect way to teach children the gift of giving. There are so many ways to involve them. Kids of all ages are capable of sorting, wrapping, and making cards. Giving them this humbling experience is the greatest gift of all.
